Melissa (Ziskind) Colangelo

Melissa Colangelo, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at the age of 72.

Born on June 3, 1953, Melissa lived a life defined by love, family, and unwavering devotion to those closest to her. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Michael Colangelo, who predeceased her in 2021, for more than 57 years. Their marriage was a true partnership—built on deep love, loyalty, and a lifetime of shared memories.

Melissa’s world revolved around her family. She was the proud and loving mother of her daughter, Jennifer Campbell, and her husband, Stephen Campbell, and her son, Erik Colangelo, and his wife, Andree Colangelo. Nothing brought her greater joy than being a grandmother to Morgan, Kinsie, Abigail, and Casey, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her brother and sister in-law, Richard and Maureen Ziskind. Melissa’s love for her children and grandchildren was profound, constant, and unmistakable.

Melissa grew up in Rockaway Beach, the place she proudly called home for most of her life. There, she raised her children and remained rooted in the community for many years. She loved the beach—the rhythm of the ocean, the calm it brought her—and cherished spending time there with her husband, Michael.

Melissa will be remembered for her warmth, her fierce devotion to her family, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the countless moments of care, laughter, and love she shared with them. 
She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

In keeping with Melissa's wishes she will be privately cremated.
