Kathleen "Kathy" Taylor, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 28, 2026, at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. Born on September 4, 1957, in Manhattan, New York, Kathy was a beacon of joy and kindness in the lives of all who knew her.
Raised in Keansburg, Kathy's early years were filled with the bustling energy of the city, which she carried with her throughout her life. She later moved to Linden, where she spent many happy years before returning to Keansburg four years prior to her passing. Kathy's life was marked by the love and devotion she had for her family and her community.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents, John J. Murray Sr. and Mary Murray, her brother John J. Murray Jr., her sister Eileen Corcoran, and her beloved grandson Francisco Rivera. Her memory will be forever cherished by her devoted husband of 47 years, Bruce Taylor Sr., her loving children, Bruce Taylor Jr. (Christina) and Amy Taylor Sampson (Rashabbaar), and her caring siblings, Andrew Murray (Kim), Ellen Murray, and Mimi Murray-Wojtaszek. Kathy's legacy continues through her seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were blessed by her presence in their lives.
Kathy's professional life was dedicated to the safety and well-being of children in her community. She retired from the City of Linden, where she served as a respected crossing guard, ensuring the safety of countless children as they journeyed to and from school. Her commitment to service extended beyond her professional role as she also worked as an aide within the Linden school system.
Her involvement with the Linden/Elizabeth Elks reflected her community spirit and her desire to connect with those around her. Kathy's zest for life shone through in her youthful pursuits; she enjoyed playing softball and was an avid bowler. These activities were more than hobbies; they were avenues through which she forged lasting friendships and shared countless laughs.
Yet it was the simple pleasures in life that Kathy cherished the most. Summers in the Poconos brought her immense joy, as did the time spent surrounded by her beloved family and grandchildren. Kathy's love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and her happiest moments were those spent in their company.
Kathy Taylor's life was one of unwavering love, laughter, and selfless dedication to others. Her radiant smile and warm heart will be deeply missed but remain a comforting presence in the lives of those she touched. As we bid farewell to Kathy, we take solace in the countless memories she has left behind—a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and guide us all.
